How many people with the top baby names of your country do you actually know?
More Small Businesses Offering Health Care .... . More Small Businesses Offering Health Care To Employees Thanks To Obamacare Jan. 6 2011 - The first statistics are coming in and, to the surprise of a great many, Obamacare might just be working to bring health care to working Americans precisely as promised. The major health insurance companies around the country are reporting a significant increase in small businesses offering health care benefits to their employees. Why? Because the tax cut created in the new health care reform law providing small businesses with an incentive to give health benefits to employees is working. We certainly did not expect to see this in this economy, said Gary Claxton, who oversees an annual survey of employer health plans for the nonprofit Kaiser Family Foundation. It's surprising. Via Los Angeles Times How significant is the impact? While we won have full national numbers until small businesses file their 2010 tax returns this April, the anecdotal evidence is as meaningful as it is unexpected. United Health Group, Inc., the nation's largest health insurer, added 75,000 new customers working in businesses with fewer than 50 employees. Coventry Health Care, Inc., a large provider of health insurance to small businesses, added 115,000 new workers in 2010 representing an 8% jump. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City, the largest health insurer in the Kansas City, Mo. area, reports an astounding 58% increase in the number of small businesses purchasing coverage in their area since April, 2010-one month after the health care reform legislation became law. One of the biggest problems in the small-group market is affordability, said Ron Rowe, who oversees small-group sales for the Kansas City operation for Blue Cross Blue Shied. We looked at the tax credit and said, this is perfect. Rowe went on to say that 38% of the businesses it is signing up had not offered health benefits before. Whatever your particular ideology, there is simply no denying that these statistics are incredibly heartening. However, for those of you who cannot get past your opposition, even for a moment of universal good news, let's break it down. The primary, most enduring complaint of the opponents of the ACA has been that the law is deathly bad for small business. Apparently, small businesses, and their employees, do not agree. The next argument has been that the PPACA is a job killer. If these small businesses found the new law to be so onerous, why have so many of them voluntarily taken advantage of the benefits provided in the law to give their employees these benefits? They were not mandated to do so. And to the extent that the coming mandate obligations might figure into their thinking, would you not imagine they would wait until 2014 to make a move as the rules do not go into effect until that time? Of course, there is the nagging banter as to how Obamacare is leading us down the road to socialism. Let it go, folks. Private market insurance companies are experiencing significant growth because of a tax break provided by the PPACA. I may have missed the day this was discussed in economics class, but I'm pretty sure this is not a socialistic result of federal legislation. When data like this appears, we have the opportunity to really find out who is talking smack for political benefit and who actually cares about getting affordable and available health care to America's workers. Certainly, there will be elements of the new law that will not work out exactly as planned. That's simply reality when it comes to any new piece of landmark legislation. But if you cannot celebrate what appears to be an important early success, you really should give some thought as to where your true interests and intents lie. If you're all about beating up on President Obama, you can conveniently forget this bit of data as if it never really happened. However, if your interest is to make health care available to more Americans, this should be a happy day for you no matter what your ideological beliefs.

Or will you start rationalizing their backsliding on budget-cutting, bipartisanship and transparency? House Republicans dial back on promises By: CNN's Dana Bash and Deirdre Walsh Washington (CNN) Even before House Republicans took control of the chamber Wednesday, there were at least three areas where they appear to be backtracking on promises made: Cutting $100 billion in the first year, allowing opportunities for the minority party to offer amendments on bills, and making public attendance records for committee hearings. The Republicans ran for office in 2010 on a platform they titled "The Pledge to America," which states they would reduce government spending to 2008 "pre-stimulus, pre-bailout levels" and cut "at least $100 billion in the first year alone." House GOP aides are now backing off that $100 billion figure. They insist they will still cut spending back to 2008 levels, but it won't add up to $100 billion. They insist the reason is because they made the $100 billion calculation based on the budget that President Obama offered, and that budget was never enacted. Therefore, the government is currently running on lower, 2009 spending levels and that will make the dollar figure of the GOP cuts smaller. Republican aides confirm the "back of the envelope" number they will now use is about HALF the original estimate - $50-60 billion in cuts. "House Republicans remain committed to fulfilling their Pledge; this has not changed," said Conor Sweeney, spokesman for the House Budget Committee. "House Republicans will continue to work to reduce spending for the final six months of this fiscal year bringing non-security discretionary spending back to pre-stimulus, pre-bailout levels yielding taxpayers significant savings and starting a new era of cost cutting in Washington," he said. Being generous to those in the minority was always an objective of the new majority, as articulated by the incoming GOP Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy back before the election: "Bills won't be written in the back of the room, where the bills have to be laid out for 72 hours, where bills actually have an open rule, where people can bring amendments up on the floor, which any freshman congressman that's sitting there today has never even seen that happen under the rule of Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats," McCarthy said on CNN "State of the Union" on October 10, 2010. BUT the health care repeal legislation, the first major bill that will move through Congress, will be a closed rule meaning no one will be able to offer an amendment. When asked about the this contradiction Tuesday night, Boehner said, "it's not like we haven't litigated this for years." And, finally, the initial rules package that House Republicans will pass Wednesday had a provision to make committee attendance public. But the House GOP conference voted last night to strip that out (a move by Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas). The goal had been transparency who is at these hearings? But making that public will no longer be a requirement. The reason? Some GOP lawmakers say they were concerned about getting slammed for missing hearings when they may have extenuating circumstances, like a death in the family.

How to get free stuff easy.?
okay, a man and a wife got married and were living in new york for a few years. They had a son together. While the father was at work, the mother didn't take care of the child properly. She sat the child in front of the tv all day while she was on the computer. The child was very malnourished, and couldn't speak properly. He was 4 years old and he spoke like a 2 year old. One day, the mother drops the child off at a neighbor's house and she leaves. The husband comes home, calls the police becasue his wife is missing, and thepolice find out that she left the country. They checked the computer's history and it turns out that she met some guy overseas,so she abandoned her child so she could live with the guy she met online. The husband finalized their divorce in New York, and he brought himself and his 4 year old son to california, and now he is living with me (sister-in-law) and my family. He's been here for over a year, and now he is engaged, getting married in June of 2011. Now my question, if the ex-wife decides to bring her new man here to america, can she get custody of the boy. The husband never filed for full custody, becasue he didn't think he needed to. So, is it possible that she can custody of him? Also, can he go to court in california and file for full custody, or does it have to be New York? Thank you so much for your answers. This is very important
